i want to install a new anti virus but everytime i go the the Add/REmove programs place, then i go to Yahoo! Applications and i click "Change/Ramove" but nothing happens...isnt a program supposed to open?? if it is supposed then it dosnt and everytime i turn off my computer and all the programs are shuting down, a window pops up saying "SBC Yahoo! Applications is not responding" So then i tried deleting all the YOP (yahoo protection) registries because everytime i disabled the antivirus program that comes with yahoo protection, my internet dosnt work. but even though i delete everything that has to do with yahoo protection, my internet still dosnt work. so now i have to stick with this even though i dont want it. and now my internet works because i have the antivirus thing on...any suggestions to uninstall this program?

so this yahoo protection software is good??? should i keep it and not download avast? will it be as good as avast?

One added bit of information about the free Yahoo online protection. The antivirus and antispyware is provided by Computer Associates. They've been used by Fortune 500 companies for many years. A very reputable and reliable company. You can read more about the antivirus here:

Personally, I don't think any antivirus or antispyware is 100% effective simply because new viruses and spyware are being developed by the minute. But Computer Associates has not failed me so they might prove me wrong. (I paid for CA protection before I got the free online suite when I changed to AT&T Yahoo.)

I have Norton Antivirus. Yahoo, which scans incoming e-mail before opening, does not interfere with it. Why would you want to remove it?
I tried to open what looked like a legitimate link. Thank God, Yahoo stopped me and advised me that it had a worm.
I am grateful to Yahoo.

I do!
first, close any open programs related to yahoo protection.
then go to control panel/add remove programs then remove yahoo
yes, yahoo protection is good you should just be happy and use it.
