why do people bring "god" into stuff that has nothing to do wih religion, for example, like, when a parent says to there kid, "god, why did you do that, it's bad", when its the kid who has done something wrong, not god.
i mean, i'm not religious in any way, i believe there is something, but i don't believe there is this big god, i believe in, A, heaven and hell, but i think there just alternate versions of the world

I agree. I am very offended when people who do not believe in God use His name as a swear. should I walk arround saying "Oh Darwin Dammmit" whan I am angry?

finally a question from a non believer, for a non believer. why do non believers say god when they don't believe in god? of course some people do not think it is a sin to use the lords name in vain. it is just another word with very few letters, have you noticed how people like to use words with few letters, if we were to take away all the four letter words some people wouldn't be able to talk at all, one on thanksgiving a lady brought out a cuss can and we had to put a penny in it for ever cuss word we said, two of the guys, could do nothing but stutter, and by the end of the day there was enough money in the can to buy Christmas present for everyone in camp.

Way off base.
God created everything and anything not created doesn't exist.
Makes about as much sense as your belief of Heaven and Hell.
Hell is Sheol or Hades which is simply the grave. Not a place of punishment for non believers. Hell, the grave is where everyone's body goes when they die. The body being unconscious wouldn't be phased by any punishment. It is only when Hell is thrown into the Lake of Fire will there be punishment which is simply separation from God.
Heaven was created for God's people who accept his salvation through Jesus Christ. So, If you don't believe in Jesus Christ then mark Heaven off of your list of places to go after you die because it is by invitation only. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will receive redemption and eternal life.
Deny Jesus Christ and you will never see it.
True Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with God.
Religion: mans feeble attempt to reach God on his own strength and power. God gave us the only route, through Jesus Christ.
Accept or reject, there is no alternative.
The reason people say God in their explatives is because He is everything and there is nothing without Him. You just can't escape God.

You need to educate yourself, God is who made you, and gave you free will to believe what you want ,in the end ,you will know your wrong, sad to wast your life thinking the way you do, God knew you before you were born, and knows what your trials are, your pain & suffering and happiness, its all a test to see if your worthy of heaven everything on earth is a test ,, and knows you better than you know your self,, you don't half to believe me, but you will not live forever, and when that day comes you will regret your words, I pray for you, question what came first the egg or the chicken , easy it was created by god first, take care hope you find God the Alpha the Omega, The Beginning and The End

I've heard it taught that people know in their hearts of hearts that there is a "god." And so it comes out naturally. It always bothers me when I hear people say this.
One time when I was a new Christian, I was working in a office. The man next to me, every time he got mad he would say Jesus Christ! Well I was so offended every time I heard it, I went to his office and asked him to please not say this, and he said he was going to say whatever he wanted. Well I told hm that whenever I got mad I would say Bob Smith! He stopped. I was very offended every time I heard it.

Your beliefs do not determine 'truth'.
Please don't go by your own understanding, or 'hearsay' - God is infinite, we are finite, all the answers are in His Word the Bible.

Yeh! Like During Sex...My girl keeps screaming "OH GOD! OH GOD!" Then I start feeling guilty about what I'm doing. Man I hate that.

When people say this, I think they are more or less saying "GOD" out loud but saying to themselves (the rest of the prayer) "please help me keep my sanity, before I kill this poor kid for his innocent naivety"
