Unitarians are liberal and open-minded,they are not going to condemn people with psychic abilities, and would probably love to have you speak about spiritualism from your point of view. Unitarians don't have a psychic/medium training program. You will find the training, support and opportunity for growth at spiritualist meetings/churches. Your library has tons on the subject. Some of it from people with psychic abilities. Some of it has great exercises to test and practice your own abilities. Most cities have groups who meet weekly and practice with each other. Please be very careful who you choose for a teacher. Don't pay large sums of money to any one. Most spiritualist want to help for free or will hold classes and charge to cover expenses. Meditate. Get tarot cards and a pendulum (almost any weight on a string will act as a pendulum). You may want to attend spiritualist camps. Practice. practice, practice. Eventually you will learn where your real gift is.
AND Learn To Turn It Off!
Best of Luck to YOU.

Ask him / her if he/she has office hours. Make an appointment. In that respect it is no different from talking to a minister about marriage, funerals, the annual budget, or a potluck program. He/she will either encourage you or direct you elsewhere. She/he won't bite.
We UU's aren't famous for psychic abilities. I've never heard of a UU Adult Education course for psychic education. The courses at our church are more Tai Chi, Yoga, history of the Symphony, famous philosophers, etc.

Why wouldn't you go to a spiritualist church or hang with the Kardec folks instead? I think they'll be sympathetic to your efforts to develop your gift, and have more to teach you.

Unitarians are fairly open-minded, so you shouldn't have any difficulty discussing these issues with a Unitarian minister. Just don't try it with the Fundamentalists.

i TOTALLY agree with kingreef777. God will lay things on your heart sometimes. sometimes it's so you can do something about it. other times, like when you guess things right all the time and your "abilities" seem almost pointless, i do believe it is a work of God to show His glory and wonder. HE is the One you should talk to. i will totally keep you in my prayers.

Most Unitarian,Catholics,Baptists, Hindus, Buddhists, Methodists, Islamics, or pretty much anyone else that leads the world religions don't like people that may one up them.
And please ignore the voices... it's just you REALLY.

sc_usc_fan,
Dude, it's God you need to go to. And don't be surprised if you can't turn them off and on when you want to. God let's you know some things that He doesn't tell everyone else. And it doesn't mean automatically tell everyone about it.
It's time that we wake up.
