In 1954, Congress made it official that the only God recognized by the US is currency. And, ordered the inscription, "In God We Trust" engraved on him to signify his deity.
At the same time, included the words "under God" in the pledge to solidly establish his supremacy.
How do Christians get around the prohibiiton against worshiping other Gods and graven (engraved) images? Do you not use US currency?

Okay, how about that pledge that requires people to swear allegiance to this nation and the God under which it operates?
Do you not say the pledge?

Archer, you are so incorrect it's not worth rebuttal. The founding fathers were mostly atheists.

Robert, what does that have to do with this question? There are statues of many "law givers" in the Supreme Court, but they are not official deities, they are decorations.

Brave JT, turn the tables on them for a change for always asking those questions about the money and the pledge. They need to look for some other "trick" questions to "stump" us on.

They may have put those words on paper money in 1954, but that doesn't mean that Congress declared that the only U.S. "official" God is currency. The two ideas are unrelated.

For sure money is God, with out it can can not survive as others, with out it you are an out cast. Money has no valve, but people surly do strange things to get it.
And yes it is blasphemy, you can not serve two gods, the one God and the Money God, also that's in all country weather god is on their money are not.
Money is our daily bread

Wow, JT you had to reach for this one...
Now, lets try reading it in context: In God We Trust.
Like it or not, this country was founded by men and women who revered the God of Israel and set it up with his commands in mind.
We don't worship money, its not a god. Some people and christians hold it in higher regard than they should but thats their choice and not a christian behavior. Its the same as some muslims believe in killing people using the same passages of the quran that you use for peace.

Money should be used as a tool for food, drink, shelter, etc. If people start worshipping it, that's their problem. Sometimes, I think they should just take a vow of poverty and live in a monastery for a while to get over it.

I agree that many people treat money as such but some of us do not see money often enough to hold that opinion. I see money as a tool to furnish my family with food, clothes, and shelter.

No, they do quite the opposite and use that to fuel the myth that this is a "christian nation." Their ignorance blinds them from the truth, that it was only added because of communism. I think they think it's always been there.

LOL. Then there's the utterly blasphemous notice posted in so many shops:
"In god we trust, all others pay cash."
How do they avoid being struck down where they stand?!?!?
