if so how long do they stay good once the jar has been opened?

not to my knowledge, the processes of pickling something make it damn near indestructable.

I would maybe toss it after a year....just to be on the safe side, but i recently ate a pickle from a jar that was over 6 months old and im still alive to tell the tale :)

I have a jar in the fridge that once held pickles. The sell by date is 9-17-05. I used the liquid that was left after we ate the pickles and I packed the jar with jalapeños. To this day, I still eat small pieces of a pepper. I have also added more peppers to the jar. Fun with pickle juice

pickles will only get soft ive had homemade pickles in my refrigerator for three years and i still eat out of the jar

if Opened they should keep awhile...I had them for along time and we use them as long as they are refridged..

they might not go bad but they wont be as crunchy.
