Why is it that some Christians will call Athiests sinners who are going to hell. Some Athiests will call Christians ignorant? And so on and so forth. What are we accomplishing?

I'm a Christian, I have Athiest friends, Christian friends, and Agnostic friends. We get along just fine and respect eachother's beliefs.

In the words of John Lennon, Give peace a chance.

Christians need to say this because christianity has become theologically BANKRUPT.

Jesus was a myth. Millions of people have been murdered. and now christians wanna 'Give peace a chance'. Christians need to keep up with the reasonable people not the reasonable people keep up with the christians.

You may be a nice person, but calling yourself a christian is like saying your a member of the New and modernized KKK, and that we cant blame the Modern KKK for the errors of the past KKK. We know christian doctrine. The Inquisition is an expression of christian doctrine, not a perversion of it. Death and destruction for un believers/heretics is the logical conclusion to christian doctrine.
face it buddy, you are not a christian if you believe in 'give peace a chance'.

To a point I agree!!

I to have friends, of all faiths & religions... and on many things we just... 'Beg to differ', and our friendships continue!!!

But you can't take away the 'Facts' that: Atheists along with many others are all sinners going to Hell: but for those saved by Grace… so therefore: there is a need to spread the Gospel…, which will in turn: cause a need in some to refute it!!

& Many, many Christians, along with atheist: agnostics: Jews: Muslims: and many others not mentioned: are also very ignorant… which will again cause an amount of strife & dissention!!

To GIVE PEACE A CHANCE… a nice thought … but for the human race!!

Why does my brother call me intolerant?

Background information--
I'm Christian (born and raised), same as the rest of the family, including Mom and Dad.

He's homosexual, very much against what ever the rest of the family stands for.

I have gay friends.

A couple of one-word answers-
IGNORANCE- He's not telepathic, so he doesn't know what I think, how I feel, etc. (btw- a HUGE pet peeve of mine... assuming..)

ARROGANCE- My theory is that he's so full of himself that he hasn't even considered that I may be just reacting to his pushy political behavior...

I suspect that ignorance and arrogance are to blame for most belief-based disagreements- the Christians are arrogant enough to think that we are the only ones who have something to offer (salvation)... The Atheists are arrogant enough to think that they're the only ones actually thinking... and the Agnostics are arrogant enough to think that they're the only ones wise enough to question everything. (This is just one of my many completely un-proven theories..)

I think that "peace" would take all of us setting aside our egos and agreeing to disagree.

Are you sure your name isn't Rodney King?

People are always gonna be at each others throats. Being individuals, we are always going to be in conflict with some other individual that has an opinion that is diametrically opposed to ours.

Why, you ask? I think it has more to do with arrogance and self-centeredness than anything else. It has been my experience that those types of people want to force others to believe what they believe, and do what they do.

Emotions, it's too bad that we all have them. We would get along just fine if we didn't have them.
Me, I have no problem getting along with any one, no matter what their beliefs.
