He told the boy he was going to hit his a $$. His father nor myself cuss in front of him and we don't listen to music that contains cuss words and we try not to watch programs that have cuss words around him but that's almost impossible nowadays. How should I discipline him about this?

Dee don't take it personal these are the things that kids pick up in the school environment and from others about them your son might never hear you or your husband say this , but its out there and even guarded ears are eventually going to pick up on such words , just explain that he needs to use good words because name calling is a bad thing and words that hurt people will get your little angel into trouble with his dad mom and school teachers . You might night cuss and swear at home but allot of people do the worst thing you can do is make these things a taboo because then he will think hes got a nasty thing that he can get away with if no one tells just soft explanations each time he does it . tell him that you love him but when he uses a potty mouth you just don't like him right now .

he probably heard it from a student at school he's 5 thats a good age to start taking the toys he like away till he stops first give him a talk about using words and ask him not to use them again if he does take the gameboy for a week no tv if you let him stay up till 9 make it 830 eventually he will get tired of having his fun taken away.

Honestly? I would just talk to him about it and let him know that it was wrong. I have little nieces and nephews. If I hear them say things, I just tell them that that type of language is unacceptable.

just tell him thets is bad talking that they were not taught right from hhis parents some thing like that that will make him understand

you have to explain to him what he did wrong and give him a time out or a punishment you think works
