I've had 3 all standard transmission (I believe it makes a big difference):
2000 VW Golf GLS turned 163,000 yesterday;
1995 VW Golf GL died with 240,000+ miles on it;
1987 VW Golf GL traded it in with 180,000+ miles on it.
GREAT, fun reliable cars. Highly recommended
Plus the Rabbit is so good looking!

I've had 2 jettas - not golfs - but same engine.
First one was a 1987 - sold it in 1998 with 650K on it. Guy i sold it to took the engine out and dropped it in an old Topaz - last I heard it was still on the road.
Second one (still the second family car) is a 1994 with just shy of 400K. Only breakdown the car has suffered since 1997 was a burned out starter last month. $250 in fixes over 10 years isn't bad.

That golfing is 10 years old!! 75K miles isn't something for a automobile that old. that's basically 7500 miles in line with 12 months and for the traditional automobile 15,000 miles in line with years is commonly used. there is not any way you will stumble on a 10 12 months old automobile with decrease than 60k miles on it till grandma in easy terms drove it as quickly as a week. in case you elect a automobile with decrease than 60K miles on it you need to be staring at 3 or 4 12 months old autos, no longer ten 12 months old autos. That VW will final you for an relatively long term as long as you shop it nicely maintained.
