Yeah... it is actually the hotel that if I were a tourist, I'd pick to stay in. I've always wanted to stay there, but I live so close to it that it's silly. It is right next to Grand Central Station and I'd say it's probably the most centrally located and best hotel to stay in in NYC.

Grand Central Station which can take you ANYWHERE in the city you want to go
Times Square
Broadway
The NY Public Library
St. Patrick's Cathedral
The Empire State Building
Rockefeller Center and the NBC studios
Sacks 5th Avenue and all of the other 5th Ave. Shopping!
St. Barts Cathedral
Totally safe and you can walk around there at night no problem. There are TONS of great places to eat around there too.
