It is legal for adults to buy a gun and own it, they can allow children in thier home to hunt with those guns if they meet legal requirements for hunting.

So if you're 18, why don't you just get the gun yourself?

If you can't get the gun yourself, then I would advise against it. Because you are going to pull your parents into a criminal mess that you started.

I don't think you can even carry a handgun on you in WI - why get one? You could get a hunting rifle and get more use out of it. Hand guns for just sitting in a case at home? I don't understand why you would want a hand gun, when you can defend your home with and hunt with a rifle. Owning a handgun only leads to trouble. . .

I can see a rifle or shotgun for hunting but I see no need for a teenager to have a pistol.
