No you do not have to get married nor do you have to give up custody of the child. You do however have to make sure the child has a place to go if you get deployed.

There are plenty on single parents in the military. No she will not have to marry the guy or give her kid up.
What she will have to do is once the baby is born she will have to fill out a Family Care Plan....
This basically explains that in the event of a deployment where will the child, who will take care of the child and so forth....
She will not have any problems...

The are no regulations requiring that a single parent, male or female, marry simply because they have a child. The main concern is that the welfare of the child be taken care of when the service member is on duty or when deployed.

there are lots of single parents in every branch. they don't make you get married nor will they take away the children, but like the other woman said you have to have arrangments for the child should you have to deploy.. they don't really care who you live with either.

If the woman was in service, she would have a choice to opt out permanently or just get maternal leave. Now there is an unfair law that says both of them, if both are in service, have to leave.
And don't say "baby momma" it's just uncivilized. Language doesn't need to degress just because it's a new century.

If you have children before joining you have to give temporary custody to a family member (or friend) to take care of child while you're in basic training.
If already in -- no she does not "have" to get married.

As far as I know, there are no military regulations prohibiting single parenthood.
If she were sent to certain posts, particularly overseas, she would need to find someone to take care of the child in her absence and after her possible death.

not at all. she will be required to have a Familiy Care plan in place, and she won't get out of duty just because she is a single parent.
Other than that, she is relatively free to do as she pleases.
