You best bet is get in touch with legal aide they can help you with this without it costing you a lot and they will do all the legal work for you. Another example of people destroying this nation by way of Mexico. Call Legal Aide they will help you and good luck.

Zoe made a good recommendation ...contacting legal aide, for starters. And if it was witnessed that she used that credit card then you should not be made to pay the bill. There has got to be ways to prove it wasn't you...signatures...there's no possible way that she could have the same as you. Did this crime happen in a different state than the one you live in? There's ways to prove that it wasn't you...DON'T let that credit card company force you into paying someone else's bill !!!!
This is something that ticks me off.....does the credit card company really expect you to pay someone else's $10,000.00 debt??? And if I were you I would keep hounding the police, social security and whoever else that would listen. That doesn't work contact the media, newspapers etc. I would be the thorn in the authorities side until they decided to help you out !! I would also contact ALL attorneys in your area to see if anyone is willing to fight for you pro- bono. (that is IF legal- aide won't help you) Keep us posted on updates......I'm sorry you are going thru this.

If she was tracked down and the social security administration knows who she is then why didn't they report her to the police? Do you have evidence that she is the one who did it? That's not right that you're the one stuck paying the bills. Maybe they just can't prove it that's why they're not doing anything? If I were you I would find out where she lives (or works) and I would confront her and tell her illegal asss to pay the whole 10,000 dollars she spent on your credit card.

sorry to hear.... i'd suggest getting a new identity... that or making your immigrant counterpart pay the bill because hey if they can work and spend under your name they should also be there to get the bill??

or when you take someones identity do you not take the bills with it??

and speaking of which maybe i need an immigrant to take my identity... because i've done a piss poor job with it so far lol

You probably won't be able to get anyone to prosecute her, but you should be able to get out of the credit card debt.
