i can only answer for the marines. never date up in the ranks. such as if you were an e-3 you wouldnt date an e-4. and if you were an e-4 you would not date an e-3. dating between e-1 and e-3 is acceptable. just make sure that when you are promoted to e-4 that if the person you are dating in the military is someone you are engaged to if they are below e-4. they frown heavily upon dating between nco's and non nco's.
as far as dating between enlisted and officer, dont even think about it. we are talking heavy fines for both parties invilved including possible discharge from service.
as far as sexual positions go missionary is the only allowed form of sex. anything else can be punished if you are found out. so no more sodomy.

Just don't do what they do in my husband's unit. So many people are cheating with others, marriages are being broken up, there are several pregnant, single female soldiers, even some of our top ranking people have gotten into trouble for sleeping with lower ranking people and cheating on their spouses. It's a mess, I've lost all respect for this unit, it's disgusting, every other chain of command my husband has worked under has put a stop to this kind of behaviour, this one is chosing to turn a blind eye and now the unit is a joke, people from other units talk about this unit and how crappy it is.

There are no rules as long as the person you are dating is the opposite sex, not married, and within the same rank structure. i.e. An enlisted can't date a officer and visa versa.
That action may result in disciplinary actions.

Ok...here is the REAL deal.
Fraternization policies in the Army prohibit relationships with anyone in your chain of command that has influence over you or you them....period. Beyond that, Officers can date enlisted and vice versa however, it is frowned upon especially in the Officer ranks.

Basically there are key rules to stick to...
Dont date anyone in your chain of command
and dont date officers....
Personally I would recommend not dating anyone you directly work with because if yall have problems it will cause a bad work enviroment for everyone...

Word to the wise, don't date someone of the same sex, if you are an enlilsted soldier, don't date officers or NCOs in your chain of command, and if you are an officer you can only date other officers that are the same rank, or if they out-rank you or you them, as long as they are not in your chain of command.

basically, if you work with that person (espec if that person is higher up) than it's a huge no-no! you are allowed to date other service members, but i'd make it discreat. im married to a marine & i'll tell anyone that if the marine corp wanted him to have a wife than they'd issue him one!

Uniform Code of Military Justice -- That will tell you whom you can and cannot date. It even tells you what positions you can do...(I am not joking)...

They may have taken it out....it used to be under the heading "fratinization", but that is no longer listed...???
