When I came home he was bleeding and having difficulty breathing. Very sick! I live in New South Wales, Australia, and I have been checking on the internet and find there is a Brown Dog Tick that causes some symptoms that are the same, he is in a yard and been supervised at all times, he has been in areas that is frequented by other dogs but supervised at all times. How could he have contacted this. If so I don't know how he has contacted this.

Anemia is not contracted. It is either inherited or caused by pour nourishment or can also be the result of a flea infestation. Treat your dog for fleas, feed him an iron rich diet and see a vet

Fleas can casue anemia sometimes but htey have to be pretty bad.
I am not familiar with all the bugs and such in Australia but I would be asking the vet how it could have happened to make sure it does not happen again.
Hopefully he will be feeling better soon.

Are you saying he is anemic? They can get it from tick, but puppies when puppies start to build their own blood cells, they can do it rather slowly. When we have a puppy that is anemic, we have the owner put them on Pet Tinic and help build up their blood. You have taken him to the vet haven't you? It would be a good idea so you can get him help.

I hope you took him to the vet! He could get anemia from fleas...I don't know about these ticks but please, if you haven't taken him to the vet, please take him now!
