I would do a drop in visit to the center that you may be thinking about, before you put them in there. I always have a back up just in case my daycare lady is sick or somthing like that. I dont feel comfortable with leaving them with someone that I dont know....

I think it's okay for kids once they're past the separation anxiety, never when they're at the "clingy" age, but I'd still visit them in advance so they're kind of familiar with it. There's nothing more scary for a kid to be "abandoned", which is what leaving them in an unfamiliar place would do to them. If your kids are older, they'd probably love it. If you're thinking you might need to utilize one of these places, then just visit when you have spare time, make friends with the people working there. Stop in more than once and see if the same people are working there, kind of check on the employee habits. I wouldn't want to drop off my kids where the employees aren't the same every time. Anyway, I always have guilt about using daycare, even though it's the same place, she's super great with the kids, etc. It's a mom thing, I think. Good luck!

As long as they are lisenced and have enough staff to take care of the number of children that would be dropped off it would be a good idea. It might work better if you had people that worked on-call so if you had too many children dropped off on a particular day you could call in reinforcements.

I see no problems with it as long as they are licensed and have good feedback from others. Sometimes a mother just needs a little alone time and for child to interact with others, or your just to busy to take child to certain places where you know it will be a hassle. As long as the child is comftorble with it, then its ok.

Great idea as long as you don't have to go back and get them.

i think if you don't want kids, don't have them. that's what is wrong with these kids now. parents are putting thier kids off on anyone who will take them and they will take them but what they'll do to them is too horrible to utter.
