I think he is definitely attracted to you because men, are, by their very nature, LAZY. If he's going out of his way to untie your shoes, he definitely craves being in your presence even if he's got to slave for you to make you feel comfortable like a queen.
"Being nice" is just saying something that requires little effort like, "hi!" or "Hey there, looking nice today."

At first I thought it could be either he's nice or he likes you. Since you said "walks with you all the time," I think he likes you! And he's making the extra effort to do nice things without asking. Did you want your skates untied

When a guy walks with you all the time..offers to carry your stuff..even unties your skates, it means he feels he must do this to impress you.
It also means that he is very insecure about himself and is waiting for validation from you. The longer it takes for you to validate his actions the more he will keep doing what he does to try and impress you.
If you really like this guy and wish to go out with him then I suggest you cut the crap and tell him he doesn't need to do this stuff to impress you.
