Yes, it is perfectly safe to give your dog a bath. Just make sure you go easy on him with worm water.

Frontline is any time after 2 days you can give your dog a bath.

Giveing your dog a bath is good for him he needs that every now and then to keep him clean.

How often should you bath your dog?

How often your pet will need a dog bath will depend on the
breed and what type of activities the dog is involved in. It's
best to bathe your dog only when your dog is really dirty. Just
use your nose - that tell tale doggy smell will let you know
it's time for a bath.

If a dog is bathed too often the skin will be stripped of its
natural, protective oils. This will result in dry itchy skin,
which will cause your dog to scratch, further irritating the
already sensitive skin. If you need to bathe your dog more
frequently make sure to use a pet shampoo that will also
moisturize your dog's skin. You may also want to follow up with
an after bath pet coat conditioner specifically formulated for
dry skin.

Yes a bath every now and then is fine. My dog is 10 and has arthritis too, I give her a shower when ever she gets a bit smelly. Not as often as every 4 weeks though because she hates getting cleaned a lot. Giving a bath also helps to loosen loose hairs that don't get removed with a brush. If he isn't used to baths, take it easy on him, don't make it too deep or too warm, test it yourself to be sure. Come up with the best solution that suits you and the dog. If your dog finds baths really painful bathe it a little less regular, but it still needs a clean now and then to keep its hair and skin healthy, and to prevent a bad odour even if it is a house dog.

Every four weeks is a bit much because it removes all healthy skin oil that your dog needs to keep healthy skin. However, if he does have arthritis, a warm bath just might make him feel a lot better. You can purchase EPSOM Salt and pour some of that in a hot tub of water and let it soak into it, and make sure you're swirling the salt around in the tub so it spreads out. Wait a few minutes until the water has cooled down and the salt has dissolved into it. EPSOM salt helps reduce pain with muscle aches, aches/bruises in bones. Keep him in there for about five or so minutes. It's safe to wash him in as well. After that, rinse him thoroughly and dry him off. You can also try giving him a massage. Humans aren't the only kind who like massages.

Yes it's ok to bathe him -just avoid getting him cold at any time... Use warm but not hot water. Every 4 weeks is a bit much, but it depends on the dog. Frontline kills over 98% of fleas within 24 hours. After that 24 hours, it's ok to bathe him. Frontline will remain waterproof for 30 days - so don't bathe him more often than that unless necessary.

For your poodle, I'd say wash her with plain water from the hose or tap if she's rolled in something. That'll get it off and won't damage her coat. If she smells bad, on the other hand, you can use shampoo and optional conditioner. Only do it when necessary, and since I doubt your dog is going to stink too often, you should be fine. Basic rules entail once every 2 months at the most. For your puppy don't wash him. Brushing can get mud and all sorts out. If you really need to, though, the same rules apply. Hope this helps. I have a 2 year old Golden Retriever and a 10 week old Golden, and I use these tips myself. My puppy just had his first bath and his coat looks great. I wouldn't reccomend not washing puppies - it makes them look and feel Great!

If you have arthritis you'll know that a warm bath or jacuzzi really soothes the aches. But its very important that you keep him warm until he's bone dry.
If he's medium to long coated its essential that you comb him first, otherwise any loose hair will form a felt mat next to his skin and you;ll have to have him clipped.
Every 4 weeks is a bit oftem, I guess you're girlfriend is worried about the smell. A good grooming every day will deal with it, but as they get older they do start to smell a bit more. After combing and brushing, finish him off with a damp cloth which you rinse and wring out, that nearly as good as a bath.
In winter get him a waterproof coat. He'll really need it when the weather's cold, windy and wet.

2 days after the flea treatment is reccomended on the package. A bath will not hurt your dog. A warm bath will probably give him some relief from the arthritis pain actually. 3-4 weeks sounds about average I think.

I don't think bathing Pip would harm him as long as the water is not too hot or cold, and make sure you dry him thoroughly. Frequent bathing would affect the natural oils in his coat. I would wait at least 24 hrs after applying frontline.I would always check with my vet if I was not sure. A lot of us mean well but a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing

i have a very large, very hairy older dog as well he has arthritis and has had a hip replacement i just bath him as often as he needs it,if he smells he gets a bath, just make sure you use warm water and get him dry you dont want him to catch a chill older dogs get sicker easier, plus with his arthritis catching a chill will make his old bones ache
i beleive if you use frontline you can wash your dog after two days even though frontline is a topical, frontline has to get into his system through his skin to work it's magic so give it a couple days to get there
