I'd take it back. That would really offend me. I love to watch those judge shows and they are just full of cases of people abusing other people's cell phones. In the first place if your friend lost their cell phone what makes you think that they will treat yours any better?
Get your property back!

I would ask them why, and get to the bottom of it. Maybe when you called, he did not know it was you, and figured that it would be rude to answer your phone when someone was calling for you. Is the number you called your phone from programmed into your cell phone?

Well for starters, if he lost the first one I'd not lend him one of mine that I had to pay the bill for, second he could very possibly have lost that one too and I'd go find him and see why he isn't answering the phone.

There is a book that says a fair-weather friend is someone who is there when he needs you. It sounds like you have a fair-weather friend. Write the phone off as tuition for the school of hard knox and get a friend who is there for you too.

Angry and used. Find out what is going on quickly before a large bill comes.
And if need be take the phone back or have service to it disconnected.
