Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Weight watchers is the best. They have a points plan you follow everyday, I usually buy their magazines and follow it in there with their meal plans. They have great receipes too. They have meetings you can go to too where you get more support. I lost my 45kgs by doing it at home just following their healthy eating plan. To be honest I think weight watchers is the best diet in the world, cause theres nothing you cant have within reason. The point system is easy, whatever weight you are, is what points your suppose to have. My prob is ive put on 10kgs and have to try and get back there for the summer. Ive got to control this yo yo diet thing. Ive just got to do it and treat myself once ina blue moon accassionaly otherwise it only makes it harder. But to answer your question, weight watchers is the way to go. Weight seems to be a very personal and sensitive issue these days, especially in mags or books. Its society, thats the prob, we're made believe that we are suppose to look like a certain star and have the same body. You also have to know that everyone has different genes too. The important thing is when you are "dieting" that your doing it to make yourself happy and not for anyone else. Be realistic about what healthy weight you want to get to and achieve. When I say realistic, I dont mean a stick thin model. I mean realistic an actual healthy weight for your height. No one has the right to tell you, what you should be or how you should be. Make it all about you and what you want for yourself. Weight loss is a slow progression thing. If you think of it as, every week your able to go that extra km further or extra mile because your fitness levels have gone up rather quickly. Thats achievement. It is a gradual and slow process, but as they say slow and steady wins the race, right?:). Everything in life its better to take small steps, in order to look at the big picture, the "big picture" is whats important in the end.

The atkins diet works, if you stick with it. After you lose the weight you want, go off of the diet, but still eat healthy. Substitue salds for fries, carrots for chips, etc....The other diet that works, and the weight stayed off...quit drinking soda's! More to this, just stop using so much sugar. Dont use it in your tea, dont drink kool-aid, and do you really need that slice of pie, or ice cream. Another tip, start eating wholsome things. For example, eat wheat bread over white. You cant tell the difference, when your eating a sandwich. Instead of the normal wheat, try to get "whole grain" bread's. ANywho, good luck with the weightloss. I've lost over a hundred pounds, in less than a year, with little exercise.

the "i'm not on a diet" diet. no, i'm not kidding! if you diet, you punish yourself. when you lose the weight, you start rewarding yourself by eating junk. then you gain what you loss and then some.
so my best advice is to NOT go on a diet.
what also helps is eating more. i'm not talking quantity- i'm talking quality and variety. try new foods- authentic international cuisine is tasty and better for you. and there's so much to choose from- Indian, Japanese, Greek, and Korean (my personal favorite). Also, there's exotic island food, an example is Hawaiian food, which is very unique.
oh, and if you drink, the top three lowest calorie alcoholic beverages I found were:
Bud Light-110 calories
Miller Light- 96 calories
1 shot of Vodka or Rum- 64 calories
good luck!
ps) exercise is good too!

#1 -- "diets" don't work--if you want to KEEP the weight off. you have to re-learn how to eat, (smaller portions/low calorie)
#2 -- you have to burn more calories than you intake, (EXERCISE)
*start off by eating 1/2 your normal calories. whatever you would normally eat, just cut it in half. this is a huge start.
*NO FAST FOOD!!! yuck!!
** LOTS of green veggies!!
*read food lables!!
*eat small meals/healthy snacks every 2 hours and most important eat breakfast! your body needs protein asap in the morning or your body goes into survival mode & will "save" your fat and eat away at your muscle instead.
*minimize your sugar and carbs (bread/pasta/rice potato). don't drink juices or soda.
*if you want something for dessert, limit it to 1 serving. (and 1-2 a week)
*be more active--walk to the video store or post office, etc...ride your bike, do yard work. remember that when you sit and watch tv you will eat more so limit the tv watching . take walks every day...do sit ups, etc. do exercise in the morning.
*read up on the internet how to be "healthy" not how to "diet". don't buy any pills...by a low calorie cook book.
*find someone to do it with--and remember that this will be hard but after time it will become a lifestyle.
in february i joined the gym and did all of the above -- i lost 20 pounds and i'm holding that weight. (i didn't need to loose more).

Eating reasonably, following Canada's Food Guide (I'm sure the USA has something similar). Eat mostly fruits and veggies, then grains/carbs, and eat very small portions of meat/junk food. Then exercise at least an hour a day. You may want to vary your exercise because sometimes the body gets used to one kind and then it becomes harder to lose weight. Join a support group.

Atkins really helped to lose the weight. But you have to be serious if you want to keep it off. The best I can suggest is to majorly cut out sugars like cokes and candy and even bread and other starches. And to exercise a few times a week. It helps to lose and keep off the pounds.

Read Body For Life by Bill Phillips and check out his website bodyforlife.com. There is no magic easy diet or pill, you have to change your lifestyle being active, working out regularly and eating properly and healthy. Good luck.

Low fat and exercise is the only way. Its also one of the hardest ways, so people avoid it and instead try these other fad diets. They're usually just a gimmick and once the founder of the diet gets rich, they move on.
