I recieved an email saying that for a bald eagle to live up to 70 years old it must fly to a high mountain and try to poke its own beak agains at wall for it to fall off and a new one to come out , then with the new beak they take out their own nails is this true?

NO they need both beak and nails to eat. Think how long it would take for your nails to grow back if you pulled them off. The bird would dieof starvation while waiting.

OMG I dont know who told you that, but without its sharp beak and strong feet with their nails the Eagle would not survive. You can't believe everything people tell you . if you are unsure contact a Rescue Rehab for Birds of Prey and ask them this question.

I think someone lied to you. If you want to check out weird things go to www.Snopes.com and type in Eagles and beaks and it will show you any urban legend about them. Good luck.
