It is only against the law if u sleep with him. I really don't see a problem. Just don't sleep with Him until u turn 18.

Age differences are more significant when you're young... in terms of maturity, life experience, etc., 4 years for a teen can count as much as 10 would for an adult.

Then there is the fact you're still basically a kid living under your parents' roof -- of course they're worried that an older guy would try to take advantage you. Maybe it's not fair, but it's what parents do.

You're best hope is to have your parents meet this guy and for him to assure them that his intentions are the very best. However, remember that Mom and Dad have very sharp instincts -- if he makes a bad impression in any way, he's out of there!

There's not much to do to change your parents mind about a guy who is older than you like that. They are probably afraid that he only wants to use you, is a pedophile, it's illegal, it's immoral and a whole slew of other reasons about why you shouldn't date him, I recently had the same problem. What I tried to do was expose him to my parents, if you both agree to do this, that way if he's really a good guy your parents will see how he is with you and maybe start to trust him. You could also compromise like promising not to see him unless you're with a group of friends, see him with adult supervision, or just let them know that you're capable and old enough to handle a relationship with him, show them that you're mature enough or get mase...haha there are plenty of ways you can try and though they might not always work it's worth a shot. Good Luck!

You seem a splash perplexed (judging by utilising your age) back whilst i became 15 I had a overwhelm on some older variety too, and it is often all different by utilising the time you're on your mid 20s, even although you cant see that now....

okay sweetheart. Look your mother in the eyes and say
"you are a hypocrite by saying I can't date "rick". We are only 4 years apart and you and dad are 7 years (not six, seven) apart. There is no difference."

Oh, P.S. your age difference is only illegal if sex is involved. Get to know him and get a ring on your finger befor sex.

Do the right thing, sweetheart, and tell your parents that. don't stand for hypocrasy.

Sorry but you might have to wait a few years. it might seem like a long time but, if it is true love then it is worth the wait. Good luck!

big difference. they are both adults now. you are a kid and he is an adult. you could cause him to be in serious trouble. your mom could get him arrested for being with you. do you really want that? you are too young to be seriously involved with someone right now. you have plenty of time.
