i know sometimes police will speed to get to a scene quickly. not every time the can put on their lights and sirens (think of a robbery in progress) so they can "sneak" up on the person. they probably tailgate to try to get you to move over. what i dont understand is why at a red light they turn on their lights and turn them off once they are through then turn into the mcdonalds parking lot.

Excellent question. Check back in a month - I got a ticket for following too closely last month (less than two car lengths) and the entire time he was tailgating me about 18 inches off my rear bumper. When he asked me what the safe following distance was at 60mph, I said four cars. He said I was wrong - it is SIX car lengths. I then asked him why he was less than half a car length off me if I was doing nothing wrong PRIOR to tailgating (the "reason" I was tailgating is because I was entering onto a freeway [accelerating] and the person in front of me saw the cop on my azz and freaked and slammed on his brakes, causing me to get rather close to his vehicle.)
So, Ill be taking this to court - and winning. The cop was a moron - he admitted to me that he had it out for me from the minute he saw me pass him on the freeway while parked. He passed me, then claims that he saw me "make a quick little lane change - while he was in the same lane four car lengths ahead of me - which means he was driving in his rear view mirror if that is the case. Racial profiling - pulled over a hispanic guy in a nice car with a white woman...

yea i know and when you point that out to em they wanna take you to jail. mainly is cause most of em have a complex,they think that badge on their chest means they are a god. My bro is a cop and he's like that the bastard,im not saying all cops are bad but most of em are they dont give a ****.And have you ever noticed they always talk down to motherfuc#$rs? Sometimes they need to get their in a hurry and dont want the other person they are comming.Leave em along,you wouldn't do what they do,and you wouldn't put up with what they put up with.Try saying good things about them instead of negative things.They need all the support they can get.

They do it to piss you off so you'll do something to make them pull you over and ticket you. That's also why they drive five miles under the speed limit...to see who will speed past. It's reverse psychology, man.

HELL YES, I LIVE IN COMPTON AND I SEE THEM DOING THAT SHYTE ALL THE TIME AND IT PISSES ME OFF.BECAUSE IF I DID IT, THEY WILL WRITE ME A BIG FAT TICKET.SOME AUTHORITY HUH, THEY DONT EVEN RESPECT IT, THEM LOSERS....LOL....
