Frogs are what is called an "environmental indicator." They used to live on all 7 continents, everywhere. Not anymore.

If you got no frogs, your environment is very poor.

Water pollution affects us at every level.

Say some crops are watered with polluted water. Then crops grow and are harvested, and that tomato makes it into your salad. Then that chemical goes into your body and causes cancer.

Alot of chemicals from the lawn that get drained off into the ocean or our drinking water, have half lifes of 75-200 years. So in 200 years the chemical will be 1/2 as toxic. There are foreign lawn chemicals present in your body right now, that you will never get rid of. Nor will your children or their children.

Water pollution kills the aquatic animals who control the aquatic grass populations. Then those grasses bloom way too much and and allow other blooms like algae to grow in the shday envirnment. Waters with certain alagae blooms are fatal when swallowed.

Water pollution gets into the ocean and you eat the fish.

Water pollution seeps into the ground wells and you drink the water.

I usewd to operate a waste treatment system in a company I worked for. We delt with caustic industrial waste.

The first thing we did was to neutralize the water by bringing the pH down from 14 to below 9.5 pH.

Next we put in a chemical that made the heavy metals (chrome, copper, arsenic,...) bind together.

The next step was to put in a flocculent. This makes pretty much everything else bond together and drop to the bottom of the tank.

The clean water at the top of the tank would overflow into the drain and the impurities, commonly called sludge, is pumped through a filter press. The impurities are trapped in the filter plates and the water coming out is often clener than the water we drink (other than being a little high in pH)

Water pollution effects the economy in many ways. First the cause of the water pollution means work for a great many people. The treatment of the waste water means jobs for even more to treat it and make it clean again.

The downside is that there are very few ecological laws in most 3rd world countries. The pollution many countries create is never treated and sent stright to the oceans and rivers. The Nile and Gangese rivers are so polluted they can no longer be used for safe drinking water.

The pollution going into the oceans is killing many of the coral reefs throughout the world. Coral reefs make up only 7% of the oceans. Considering that 90+% of the fish in the seas live around reefs, they won't have anyplace to live in another 50-75 years at the current rate of reef distruction. One the fish are gone...so are we.

it is really hard to undue pollution... my guess is via chemicals. our econmy is good right now since we just do without thinking about the effects. eventually the world will spit in our face and then our economy will suffer as the world deteriorates. animals aren't too thrilled with it either.

depends on what kind of pollution, last weekend my girlfriend and I took some canoes down a local river and pulled out bottles, tires, oil drums and countless other bric-a-brac from the bottom and took them to a local dump.

u pick up the dirty things in the ocean, like trash u don't pick up after u go to the beach, or if u litter and it goes in the storm drains and then it goes to the ocean,, it does affect animals, because fish eat it, then our food that we eat, eats fish and then we eat our trash, so don't litter, or the fish u eat ate trash so u would be eating trash
