I am a Christian and also use the scientific method. I have studied homosexuality and sexual development extensively, including some of the studies that claim to prove that homosexuality is innate. So the scientific method says to be open to new facts and things, and not closed minded or biased either way.
Studying all the links you have provided will take a bit of time. Right off, I'll say that I looked at the first link, and that is not about homosexuality, but is about embryonic development of sexual organs. It says that with a certain factor the mice did not have prostates... so that does not prove that homosexuality is innate because it is not about homosexuality.
Sometimes it is not the Christian who is twisting things to suit his/her own preconceived idea, but the person who wants it to come out that homosexuality is innate that twists things.
However, because nobody is 'born that way' does not mean that it is a choice either. It is a combination of what is called 'predisposing factors' and environmental factors and conditioning. The environmental factors can begin as early as the announcement 'it's a boy', or 'it's a girl' if the parents are not accepting of the baby as s/he is.
Not every incorrect statement comes from an agent of Satan,,, and I'm not evangelical.
I'll look at the rest of these, and watch this question.
PS. I read the second one and this is an excerpt: "Larkin's team also found that the hypothalamic region had a rich supply of the enzyme aromatase, which converts testosterone into oestrogen. It is in this form that the hormone interacts with the brain. This may help support one theory that sexual orientation, IN PART AT LEAST, MAY be related to the hormones present during fetal development, says Balthazart.
But Larkin suggests there MAY ALSO be the influence of genes at work, at least in predisposing the animals to homosexuality. This is because selective breeding seems to have been responsible for the high proportion of gay sheep compared with other animals." So this does not say that these are definite causes of homosexuality, but that they MAY be PART of the causes.
The 4th link, regarding a gene on the X chromosome says this: "However, the finding does not explain all homosexuality. Seven out of 40 pairs of homosexual brothers studied did not have the common genetic factor, the researchers said. "
the pheromone thing could be conditioning.
So, none of these prove that homosexuality is an innate thing. You have to read these carefully, and not just the parts that you like. Again, that does not mean it is a choice either. there are other psychological explanations.

Same sex attraction can be either. It can be a choice influenced by our society. It can also be a condition someone is born with. I say this because I've seen some people who really struggle with their sexuality and would change it if they could. Christians should not try to change same-sex couples. There's nothing they can do about it. Yes, it's a sin. So is adultery. So is heterosexual behaviour outside of marriage. So is looking at someone with lust. So is foul language. God knows what's in our hearts. Same -Sex attraction is no different than being attracted to someone of the opposite sex whom you really shouldn't be attracted to! God knows we struggle with these and many other issues. Thus, he sent Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice because we could not keep ourselves clean. Christians....Listen....Jesus said that the measure we use to Judge others is the measure that will be used to Judge us. Judge not, lest you be Judged.

Attraction really isn't the issue. The issue is action - it's a choice to act upon those urges.
You know, it might really make me feel good to have a million dollars; do you think I can argue that I'm not choosing to rob a bank, but it's just the way I was born?

From a strictly scientific viewpoint, what would be the good to any species of a "gay gene"??
Would gay organisms mate back into the general population, as a rule? I don't think so.
Why is it that, when you introduce females into an all male population of farm animals...say, sheep, for instance...the "gayness" sort of...dissolves? Has anyone actually observed any gay animals actually...uh...mating? I've never seen any study that talks about the actual...ummmm...mechanics of it.
I'm sure that we have all heard of people who were "born" with a certian prediliction...for instance, when my daughter was little, I had to watch her very closely whenever we went into a store, and check her pockets when we came out...she was a "born kleptomaniac." With lots of patience and a bit of discipline, she outgrew it, and is now a beautiful and honest young woman.
The idea that homosexuality is a part of "natural selection" is....uh....humorous, at best!!

Whether or not, one is born with the need to lay with one of the same sex, it is still a sin to commit the act and lifestyle.
English Standard Version from E-sword:
1Ti 1:10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
The homosexual will get the strength to abstain in this lifetime if he prays and stays within Gods guidelines about. He will be rewarded.
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Rocko: Remember that being Homosexual is about the orientation, not the act.
To be gay or lesbian, one only needs to be attracted to members of the same sex. No sex is required...

People in general need to stop dwelling on things that don't really matter. Regardless of if you are born homosexual or not, all people should be respected and given equal rights. People should also mind their own business and not care about gay marriage. It's up to the people it concerns. (Though I do agree with you)

I still believe that it is a choice, but I also believe it is the human condition and that nothing is perfect in this world because of satan. I also believe it is between the person who is doing it and God - I am not the judge for what people do with their lives - God is.

to believe a book, written by men, 2000 yrs. ago.
It's not a choice, someone gay, close to me, told me he
would choose to be straight, but, it just wasn't happening.
