is it true that a person having a stroke could be saved this way?

When a person suffers a stroke, it is due to the fact that blood rushes to his brain. Therefore cutting that person on the finger for example, and releasing blood could save that person. I know is sounds radical, but could there be a possibility that its true? I think so.

This will only leave the poor person bleeding and having a stroke because a stroke is a blood clot in the brain. There is nothing you can do during a stroke except get the person to a hospital as fast as possible. Aspirin will not work because if there is bleeding in the brain it will only make it worse.

No,no,no,no, the stroke is a result of blood being blocked from going to the brain not the other way around like you seem to think. So no cutting the person would not help in the very least.

Dear 'Macgyver':

Absolutely not!

Generally a stroke is an interuption of adequate blood supply to the brain. Low or lack of oxygen to the brain (carried by the blood supply) allowing brain cells to die.

A stroke victim should seek professional medical assistance immediately, as a stroke (even a 'mini stroke') is often one in a series of strokes, and needs to be treated right away.

There is loads of evidence to suggest that our brain is constantly generating new brain cells. So many stroke victims who have had early (stress early) diagnosis and treatment have had successful recovery because of early (again early) treatment, and avoiding followup (often more serious) strokes.

It can be very very serious if not treated, (one of the leading causes of death in N.America) but if you are lucky enough to survive it is a wake up call by the body to slow down and start treating your body better, one that should not be ignored.

How to save a stroke victim (without cutting his/her finger):

The best way is to have the person lay down, (leveling out the blood flow throughout the entire body), and call 911. Wait with them and keep them calm. Mr. (or Ms.) paramedic will have more equipment and know how to deal with the rest.

Absolutely not!
The damage from a stroke is usually a lack of o2 to an area of the brain d/t a clot and causing bleeding will only deprive the body of more o2.

NO not all strokes are caused by the reason you state and you should never cut anyone for that reason call 911 they do say to give them aspirin if you suspect heart attack or stroke that it could save life but the best thing is to get to hospital ASAP

in theory it sounds like it could work right? but in actuality it won't when you're having a stroke the blood rushes much quicker then you'd think that's why you can have a stroke and not even know you had one and for you're theory to work you'd have to cut the person pretty deep and they'd have to lose more blood then they can afford to lose so i wouldn't go experimenting.
