Yes, they have, and I just told them that I wasn't interested and they continued on their way. I don't see why so many people have to make enemies out of Jehovah's Witnesses- they're generally nice people who think they're doing the right thing.

Yes. I try to be as nice to them as possible. Their religion teaches them that they will be persecuted by those outside of the Jehovah's witnesses church. They believe you cannot be saved if you are not a Jehovah's witness - they teach that the JW church (not the sacrifice of Christ) is the "ark" like Noah's ark that will save us from our sins. If we are inside the chuch, we are saved, if not, we're not!
So I smile when I greet them, I greet both of them, the "main" person and the apprentace. (They always come in twos, one seasoned veteran and one trainee) I invite them into my house and I offer them food and drink (it is HOT out there going door to door!)
I talk with them about whatever they want to talk about. I had one telling me once about heaven and I told her that I am eagerly looking forward to going there!
You see, as a Christian I know I am going to heaven because Jesus paid the penalty for my sins. JW's on the other hand have to work hard to make sure that they are doing enough to please God. I don't remember where I heard it, but I think they believe only 144,000 people will make it to the "best" heaven with God. I think that's why they work so hard - because their church legalistically expects them too (and looks down on them if they don't) and they want to earn God's approval.
Also, they do not believe the doctrine of the Trinity. This is fundamental Christian teaching which goes back to the apostle's creed.
Sometimes I like to show them the passage in Deuteronomy which says that if someone who claims to be a prophet ever predicts something which doesn't come true, then they aren't really a prophet and you don't have to listen to them.
Well, the JW's have been predicting that the world will end since the 1940's. They gave many specific dates that the world will end which have come and gone.
That is why I don't feel like I need to pay attention when they say that they are the only true church. Because they've been wrong so many times.
I told a woman this once and she said "that was a long time ago, we're different now!" and this was just after she was telling me that the world will end soon because of the United Nations. I was like - lady you're doing the same thing your organization has done for over half a century! And I didn't take any more of her magazines.
Sometimes I highlight the magazines so I will have something to discuss with them the next time they visit me.
Hope this helps? :)

I welcomed them in as I too am a Jehovah's Witness.
As Witnesses we are under the mandate by Jesus in Matthew 24:14, which tells us that "this good news of the Kingdom shall be preached through out all the inhabited earth for a Witness to all the nations"
Since so many non witnesses have had the pleasure to explain their understanding of our beliefs, I will take the time to correct
First, we are Christians.
Second, we do not preach to buy our way into heaven. We are doing as the Bible commanded. If I saw someone in need of help I would try to help them. This is the same principle.
It is true that we teach the same things worldwide. It is called Unity. There no first, southern, Kingdom Halls. We do not have differing ideaologies from one Kingdom Hall to another.
To the person who mention us traveling in pairs of mentor and apprentice, they are almost half right. We do usualy travel in pairs, not always, but usualy. This is not a matter of mentor and apprentice, but a matter of, especially judging by someof the answers, saftey, company as we walk, also it is nice to have someone to talk to after someone feels the need to be rude to us. There are times where if one is extra nervous or new to preaching they might let their partner do the talking at all the doors, but for the most part we alternate, each talking, in a one for me one for you type of system.
To those that are rude at the door, all this accomplishes is making the Witnesses who come think you are unhappy with your life and will benefit even more from our message.

Yes they have knocked many times... I like talking to them... but they stopped coming around when they found out that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormon)...
I could never get any straight answers from them about the verses of the Bible that they are missing. They don't have a Prophet to tell them that it needed to be removed or changed so I guess they just decided on their own to remove them... I don't even remember which verses they are now...
I'm not sure why they go door to door... in my faith we go door to door because we are required to spread the gospel... to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to hear of Jesus and to accept or reject him as their savior.

Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

I have that happen to me about 3-4 times. So what I do is that I get a copy of the Koran and start preaching Islam to them...hehehe...it's not just them. It is not really fair to single them out. I mean they weren't so bad and besides, all religions talk about preaching to others. Jehovah's Witnesses aren't the only ones who preach from door-to-door.

Yoda up there is pulling your leg... Im not a JW but I studied with them for 6 years and I know that the ones that do the talking when they go door to door are extremely educated in History, Science and Scripture because they know what the're going to be questioned with.

Many times and unfortunately still do, I simply tell them that they are the most miss guided people in religious history next to the Mormons, I believe that there are a lot of religious secs out there that should be outlawed, freedom of religion has for the most part created insane and bizarre beliefs that people get caught up in and become fanatic about, I do not believe God would bless self taught insanity.

So many times, I lost count on it. Any who, I told them that I was not intrested and when they refused to take no for an answer, I grabbed my cordless phone and threatened to call the police. Why they and other religions feel the need to go door to door to preach their stuff. But I do know, that it is very irritating to those they try to preach to, after they were told that they are not intrested.

Yes they have. When I open my door you see the following items: Two daggers (12th century replicas), a horsemans axe (12th century replica), a sign saying "The Witch is IN, a ceramic plaque of the green man, my altar, two double bladed ceremonial daggers, one sword, a small statue of Ganesh, and one of Lakshmi. I can tell they are missionaries right away by the way they dress. They always give their opening line "We would like to share the word of god with you" I answer "O.K but I will tell you right off, I am a witch. I am happy with my beliefs and if you are willing I will share mine with you as well." This either puts them off or I get the shocked look of "Oh really" from them. The converstation usually lasts 15 minutes (I am very polite and I let them share there thoughts). I then tell them that with our belief noone had to die to bring me salvation, that her law is love unto all things ect." I actually had a 1 hour conversation with two older gentlemen and they left with a better understanding of witchcraft, and I had actually dispelled some of the voiced misconceptions they had. I felt pretty good that day.
OH by the way this is a description of my altar: It is covered with a black velvet cloth with silver crescent moons and stars on it. There is the glass mirror pentacle, the charging bowl, chalice, my athame, wand, censer, scourge, deer antlers two candle holders and a gold arrow (My personal diety is Artemis).
