No one HAS TO BE politically correct. That is a personal choice everyone has even here.

Yeah the majority of Americans are politically correct, but you still have a lot of racism and bigotry. Just look at the Black Panthers, the KKK & Skinheads, not to mention the animosity to those who are Muslim, or those who look middle eastern.
Go back 40 years, and there was widespread segregation. The US has along way to go.

Being politically correct really just means being sensitive to how others may be interpreting things. It's a communication tool--it doesn't mean that you have to censor what you say. . .just learn how to say it so that it is heard the way you want it to be.
