Ever since Comet was a pup, he had to have his food made a special way. Then as he grows up, it's no dog good... it's human food. We tried to stop giving Comet human food so he can get hungry and eat his dog food, but it doesn't work. He just won't eat at all and starve. It's like he's saying, "I would rather starve than eat that stuff in that bowl." My friend suggested that I crush Comet's treats and mix them in his food so he would eat. That works but I just wish Comet will eat his food when I pour it in his bowl. Any suggestions besides the crush his treats and mix it in his food one?

It is not natural for a dog to not eat dog food and really if you know dogs then you know they eat just about anything.
Stop giving your dog treats for one. Make your dog work for his food. Stimulate his appetite by providing lots of excercise and then rewarding him with food.

First off no healthy dog will starve itself to death. You need to present him with his dinner. If he looks at it and walks away pick it up. Don't give it back until the next meal time. Do the same thing. If he eats a bit and walks away pick it up. Within about 5-7 days he will figure out he has got to eat when you feed him. Do NOT cave. Do NOT give him any human food. Do NOT feed him other than meal time. I promise you if you do this and stay firm it will work. I've told people this hundreds of times and it's never failed. He has you trained very well.

Pour some chicken broth or some sort of flavored topping on your dog's food. I had a dog that was a finicky eater as well, but all it took was a little broth and he'd gobble it up. If you’re concerned about too much salt get the low salt chicken broth. Trust me, dogs know when you're trying to feed them crap, you need to mask the nasty taste of dog food (not that I know what DF taste like) and they will be all over it.

He does have you trained. Give him only dog food. He may not eat for a day or two, but he will eat the dog food. You just have to not give in! No dog will starve to death.

oohhhh!! my dog did the same.
We've mixed in rice with the food, we've put gravy on it (at petsmart or petco you can find IAMS dog gravy. its softer on their stomachs.) and we've also mixed wet food in with the regular food. Then slowly (SLOWLY!!!) wean them off of the other food and then they'll appreciate it more.
we also let my dog off for a day without ANY food. Then we poured in the food later that day *shes fed twice* and she practically inhaled it.

Just keep doing that and gradually reduce the amount of treats till its just food. The rest is up to the dog. Good luck!!!

you will have to continue to feed the dog from the table.I made the same mistake with my cat when she was a kitten.I had plenty cans of tuna fish.I fed her that and she won't eat anything else.I have tried everything she would rather starve until she gets what she wants.
