I don't mind at all, since all the people I chat with are my friends. I do mind sometimes though with a person who is my friend, makes it seem like he wants more than a platonic type of relationship. Although I can understand your situation-I know it can definitely be frustrating when the person who i/m a lot is someone your not as close to, and really see no point in chatting with them-especially 24/7.

YES!!! Oh my god it drives me INSANE!!! That's why im always invisible on yahoo messager. If I show that I'm online, I get like 7 IMs from people I don't even know but I talked to once in a chat room.
If it's someone I know then it depends. If it's my best friend, I dont mind. If its an annoying person im trying to avoid, I get frustrated and usually block them for an hour.

I'm sorry I guess I don't have a life cuz I sit at my computer alot and when one of my friends come on I like to talk to them. I would hope that if that is annoying they would tell me and then I wouldn't bug them until they are eady to chat. That would just be the polite thing to do on both sides

Not necessarily.
But some people take it to extremes...
I've only had one case of this, and it drove me crazy for about two years. It wasn't only when I signed on, it was constantly...if I was away for a few days I'd have like fifty off-line messages.
I finally had to delete the guy from my friends list and ignore him.
Then, I had to report his emails as spam.
Finally, a year later, he has stopped.

Yes I would...Someone has a crush on you...Do what I do.I go on invisible and then the people on my messenger that I want to talk with I make myself visible to them. Or you could just be rude to her but thats not something I would do..I've learned what goes around comes around...Good luck

Yes, this can be annoying. I always sign on as "Invisible". This way I can contact who I want to contact with out hurting any ones feelings.

Yes I would be, it happens alot with me as soon as I sign in to Msn messenger, i get flooded with messages, but the last week or so I have been signing in and then showing myself as away and so far I haven't been getting bothered much.

No. I only have threef riends, and they're all great conversationalists. besides. Why sign on if you don't want to talk? You can always just say hi, shrink the screen, and get on with your life. With any luck they'll go away.

Yes!!! I finally had to put myself as permanently invisible to this one girl, she was driving me crazy. And usually I put myself as invisible to everyone unless I'm really in the mood to talk. And a couple of times people have sent me Spam and then IMed me and asked me to read their e-mail and respond and help them, those people really piss me off.

yes..i may have important thyngs to do on the internet lyk research 4 skl or sumfing..and then everytyme i signe on sumone is lyk hi wuzzup..how wuz ur day..and i have to tell them that i have important stuff to do so i cant talk but they ignore me so i have to lie about gettin off the internet or sumfing ...that is also kinda lyk stalking 2 they can get into trouble 4 that...i want to tell them to stop but i dont wanna stop loosing friends so i will talk but i am never as happy as i can be wen i do talk to them cuz i always talk to them lol!
