I don't really like either. There is a third option that you didn't mention. Some people believe that life here was seeded from aliens. I'm not sure I like that one either though.

Many opinions here. Darwin proved animals evolved, especially birds. Archeologist's through the century's have produced fossils and have dated them to millions of years ago.
Our ancestors knew about selective breeding.
Still with me?
Or, do you reject the Idea because of the religious community? The evolution of man has so much information documented and tested. Creationism started after writing was formed.
Where a power hungry group of men wrote a story.
Darwin started a sensible and organized explanation with proof and data. Just recently the intervention theory popped up, because there are gap in fossil evidence. UFO's and alien's. Proof?
Remember, If the Alien stud came to earth how many women could he inseminate or if a woman how many girl children could she have??? Animal husbandry can prove selective breeding can control the offspring. There was millions of years till Lucy was here.
Maybe all three fit together .
God made a Plan to make Himself happy. The universe, Light the planets all the animals, evolution must happen, we have the fossil data, flora, fauna, fish, dinosaurs.
Then, dirt or dust, NO! that came into play after the written word.
Are you going to take the word of a bunch of cowboys or silly monks or shieks or rabies to tell you how the west has won? Or maybe a caveman spewing stories after smoking dope and drawing pictures on the wall?
IT is all a matter of what you believe, stories, written word, or documented and tested facts..

I think compost is closer to the truth. Imagine this. You’ve just bought a new home which you furnish with all sorts of nice fittings and fixtures, then prepare the grounds and garden. You plant a wide range of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and vegetables. You clip and prune as time goes on, spray the weeds, and generally keep your property in good shape.
Many years pass and your gardens are flourishing, not a weed to be seen anywhere. You head off on holiday, a weed pops up and bugs start to crawl all over it. Not to worry, when you return home you spray the gardens, killing all the bugs and weeds. Everything is back to normal.
Now consider the universe. After billions of years a little planet (weed) called Earth pops up and it’s crawling with bugs called humans. Do you really think the gardener (or creator) really cares about the bugs and weeds? Do you think the gardener cares if he destroys you? Do you think that the bugs (humans) on the weed (Earth) have any idea what’s going on in the rest of garden (universe)? What happens to all human beings is just the same as what happens to all bugs and weeds - compost.

Silly Picasso!
We are not evolved from monkeys.
We and all primates (including monkeys, of course) had a common ancestor. This is not the same thing.
I won't even address how bizarre being created from dirt is.

Humans can't be evolved from monkeys. Evolution has been proven false, over and over again for over 100 years by repeated scientific observation. It flat out does not happen.
This does not support creationism however.....only proves that evolutionists are trying to do something incredibly dishonest in the debate.

The one where your spelling and grammar are even remotely correct. Could you ask again in a coherent fashion? No offence taken. LOL
