Sona Medspa in SF, San Mateo, and Santana Row in the south bay. The experience itself is really nice - They are completely thorough and they have consultations with you (initially to answer any questions - and after you've had a few treatments to see how the results are coming along.) I've already had my treatments done - and the results are awesome! I no longer feel embarrased about any excess hair. They also sometimes have specials (buy one body part to be treated, get another one free, etc) You will have a total of 5 treatments to be done. For example, if you get your legs done, you must stop waxing a month before your treatment (just shave) and when your treatment is done - you get the next treatment done 3 months from that first one. The reason why is your hair growth cycle is within that time period - and you want to get the hairs at the same cycle - so after 5 treatments you will be completely done. After each treatment the hair will grow back less and finer...until it is completely gone. I'm including a link - good luck! I love the results.... ;)

I've been to Aneu Skin on Fillmore Street in San Francisco and they were excellent. I was very happy with my results and though they're not the least expensive place you'll find, I doubt this is the kind of service one would want to scrimp on. Good luck!

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at
