Your doctor should have told you that, or you may find it in the package insert.

Please keep in mind that birth control pills will not prevent STDs. So if there's any chance AT ALL that you or boyfriend have an STD (multiple partners being a huge warning signal), please get tested before you stop using a condom.

Also, if you're NOT going to be exclusive sexually...do NOT stop using a condom. No one is worth dying over.

ALSO if you ever need to take antibiotics for anything..you HAVE to use another form of protection...like a condom. Some antibiotics make the Pill not work right to prevent pregnancy.

Beofre you start sleeping together with no condom you have to be taking your bc pills for a full 7 days. That is until your white section is complete and you are safe on your 8th day. If you have unprotected sex before your 7th day you may become pregnant. : )

The package may say to wait a full week (only if you've started taking it on the sunday after your period starts) but my gyno says to wait 3-4 weeks until they are totally fine. If you want to be really safe, use condoms for at least a few weeks.

I think you should stick to using condoms just b/c it's a bf and sh*t happens, people break up you know. It's better to be safe than sorry. If you're still wanting to have unprotected sex, you should have him & yourself tested for any STDs before you take the next step. Don't know about the question though. Sorry.

It is NOT a week. You have to take it at the same time EVERY day for a month before you're safe to have sex without a condom. And then you have to continue taking it at the same time every day for it to be effective.

ALWAYS use one... sorry hon it's not worth it. U said urself u want "saftey against me getting me pregnant" - so if that's really what u want, use as many safeguards as u can. if u dont and *pop* oops, u will wish u had, u will be sick to ur stomach, and cry...
