All of you keep pointing out that illegals are not the only criminals in our prisons. You are correct. My perspective is, if there are "plenty of citizens in our prisons", then why should we accept any more that are here illegally?? The average cost to house a prisoner is $4,000 a day. There are thousands of illegals in our prison system right now. I just don't see how your argument makes any sense. By the way, these illegals are in prison for committing crimes, many of them violent; illegals are hurting our nation, so that argument goes out the window too.

You're so right,His Girl!!! And,while we DO have way TOO MANY criminals that are Americans, (which we can NOT deport) these crimes committed by ILLEGALS would never have happened, had they not been in our country ILLEGALLY in the first place!!!!

I just don't see how this can be a question. Is there a question in there somewhere? I totally agree with you when it comes to illegals costing us to keep them locked up. But what other way can we deal with them? You might say to just deport them. OK, but what about the crimes they've committed? They'd be getting a free pass and criminals with a free pass would be a nightmare. Can you imagine? An illegal kills 2 people and is deported. I'd bet you my house that he'd be back in two weeks. Maybe we could transfer them to a jail in their native countries. That wouldn't work because their respective countries could give a damn about what they did. God forbid, an illegal kills, murders, one of your very loved ones. Would you be satisfied that they just be deported? Basically free to return any day of the week? Hell no! Jail those bastards and let them rot in a dark cell. I don't care how much it cost. If my tax dollars are being used to feed them and cure them for free, why not use my tax dollars to jail them as well? True whether they realize it or not, illegals are hurting our country both socially and economically.

I don't think any of us are advocating the ones who are in prison the reason I point out the Americans is because in a lot of posts It seems as if the Illegals are the reason the jails are full. I agree there should be a way to track those that have criminal backgrounds and not let them come at all. I wish that there was a way to loosen the immigration rules and provide the ability to track the ones who do come over and possibly give them time to prove themselves in order to get residency.

You are right again. These illegals shouldn't have been here in the first place, that's how it relates to immigration for those of you who aren't bright enough to grasp this question. You regulars know who I am referring to. We have enough crime to deal with by our own citizens, we don't need the ones from south of the border to add to it. It's just another waste of tax payer money on illegals.

It is bad enough those illegal aliens are here illegally. They add more insult to injury by committing heinous crimes in this country where they said they wanted to live. Who would want to live next to to an illegal alien who is also a rapist, murderer, thief, drug dealer or embezzler? If our government is not willing to solve this immigration problem, our last resort is God, the Almighty. He is our only hope to keep America safe and peaceful.

We don't need more criminals! We need them deported and out of here for the protection of the people here. We shouldn't be paying for them neither.
And we should stop what we can-there is no excuse not too. NO EXCUSE.
Laws are for protection. I would think any numskull would know that. Don't break them or support those who do. If you don't like them than get the majority to change the law otherwise You are just as bad as the criminal to support law breakers.

So your saying get rid of them all even if they deserve to serve time for crimes commited here? So for example, my son's father who murdered a woman and is currently living it up in el salvador doesn't deserve imprisonment? That if they had caught him they should have sent him back straight away anyways? Hows that fair. Deporting violent criminals without imprisonment means that they won, just like my son's father did. Yes he's out of the country but he still deserves to rot in jail for it. Usually the country's they come from don't give a damn what crimes they commited here, they will be allowed to walk free, like my son's father. Because he was denied citizenship and he was still their citizen, they had a right to tell our government no to sending him back because our immigration laws. They said that since america is trying to get rid of everyone that he would stay and walk free. How is that fair to the womans family, how is that fair to any family, or business that has something horrible done to them, and the criminals only punishment is to be sent back to a different country. Those who have not commited crimes besides coming here should have their amnesty. Those who have done crimes should get what they deserve in imprisonment and then deported.

Illegal immigrants are about 4 to 5 % of our population and between 25 to 30 % of our prison population. Sure, most of the criminals in our country are legally in our country - 95% of the people in our country are legally here.
They are disproportionately criminal, however. We need a secure border and need to deport every illegally present alien in a gang or who is convicted of crime when they have served their sentence.

People who sneak over the border or overstay a visa are illegal in the sense that that broke immigration laws. They are not necessarily violent criminals. The problem is that we view "illegal" as violent criminal. . .and it really is not. (i.e. I may make park in front of a fire hydrant. . .it is illegal (and thoughtless too. . ., but far from being criminal).

So you're saying that if they weren't here illegally, the crimes wouldn't have happened, right? Well, would it make a difference if they committed the crime while being here legally? Think about it.
