Well in the Bible it does not say that tatoos are wrong. So i don't believe it is a sin. This is how i see things. There are many gray areas in the Bible. Many times people will put words into God's mouth or read into a scripture wrong to try to prove that something is sin when it isn't. It will be different for every Christian. Some Christians may feel that a tattoo would be sinnful others may feel it's not. The point is it's between you and God and it is not up to anyone else to judge. However if you are still under your parents you should respect them and not get a tattoo etc. Wait until it can be your own decicion because God wants you to obey your parents.
While a tattoo is not necessarily a sin, you do need to ask yourself some questions. Is this more important than my walk with the Lord? Will it distract me from my walk with the Lord? Should i be spending my money on furthering the Lords Kingdom? Do you really think this would a wise use of your time, money and attention? Or are their other things that i should focus on. Also keep in mind that whether your like it or not it does communicate something to people. And if you are a Christian and you plan to go on out to the mission field etc do you really think this would be a good thing to have or would it be a distraction? Think about the kind of people who are wearing tattoos? You wearing a tattoo is going to say i'm with them...but what you want to be saying is i belong to the Lord. You don't people to be distracted.
I hope this helps and that you will think over this carefully and make a wise decicion.
God bless!

Look up that verse in Leviticus that people are siting and you'll see that in context it doesn't apply to us today. And, if your body is a temple then doesn't a temple advertize it's purpose to the outside world. If you're going to get a tattoo check out all the christian tattoos all over the internet, that way you have a purpose of putting permenant marking on your body, but if your parents don't agree wait until you are out on your own because otherwise you will be disrespecting your parents, and that is a sin.

The flesh will not enherit the Kingdom of God anyway... plus didnt God have them decorate the Temple? The word "tattoo" never appeared in any text before 1611 and God only spoke against marking or cutting your body for the dead. There are no laws against it otherwise. However I wouldnt get an ungodly tattoo... no demons or tattoos on genitals and stuff. I dont think there is a problem otherwise.

No, i do no longer have self assurance that it truly is a sin. i imagine that Leviticus is used on the prompt to further an persons personal time table and is often twisted at will. Christ got here so as that the former regulation might want to die away. seem in the recent testomony, what does Jesus say about tattoos... no longer something!! As for as your body is your temple, properly a twin of the church what's interior is a great deal more effective major than what's on the out. We draw close pictures in our churches, paint them, and beautify them.... the in uncomplicated words large difference is bigotry.

It is ungodly to get a tattoo, it is defiling your body. In the bible your body is considered to be a temple.

No I don't think so. But your parents are correct in saying your body is a temple. Tattoos are pretty, as long as they are done in good taste. Don't go getting any skulls, devils, ect anything that seems evil. That's what I'd do. I have one.

I've heard both sides. "The body is a temple and it is wrong to desecrate it" and "The body is a temple - it's okay to beautify it." I don't know that there is an answer aside from various interpretations and societal justification and condemnation for tattoos.

Yeah its wrong, it's like putting graffiti on your body. Why would you want to mess yourself up? Tatooing is wrong in both Old Testament times, and in New Testament times.
Don't believe me?
