In Guangzhou you will want to first visit the big department stores to get an idea of prices with huge mark-ups, then, armed with this, go to the computer cities. the first is on tianhe bei lu. right across from the big new mall called the grand view plaza in Tianhe. This is the district with the train station you'll be arriving in if you come from shenzhen or hong kong. just simply know that you want to pay a lot less than the department store and stick to your guns.. Don't for a second be afraid to walk out of a place if they refuse your price. There are only another hundred shops to visit. so for this reason you should start your day at 9am.
Your second choice is a computer city near Haiyin bridge on the ju jiang river (the pearl river) In putongua you say "haiyin jiao" in guangdonghua you say "hoi-yin cue". The computer city is on the north side of the river and extends a few blocks, so walk around make sure you find it all. same thing applies. know what price you want to pay and don't pay anything more.

Now i assume you live in China to be asking the way you have. but I feel I should tell you that except for a digital projector that I got right as they were trying to sell out the old stock to make room for the new models, prices are about half in the States what you can find in Guangzhou.

Why? because in the states, everybody buys these things and so competition is fierce. here in China only the people who have too much money are buying these things and so the prices accomadate them.

for example, three years ago, I bought an INITIAL (chinese name is shinco)portable dvd player at best buy in the states for $100. still to this day, the original Chinese brand name SHINCO (exactly the same model) is selling for $300 here in Guangzhou. there's just no pressure to drop the prices. keep alert. shop often. when the prices suddenly drop, they are trying to clear out the old stock. thats when to buy.

Now as a whole different answer, say, if you don't want to take a few days to make this purchase. Go straight to a shop called SUNNING. their logo is in blue and yellow like the IKea logo. Their sales staff is so helpful, so informative, so ready to be of service, that it's as if you walked right out of the country when you entered the door. My chinese is bad enough still that they even manage to pull someone over who speaks English to help me.
Sunning is my vote for #1 place to buy electronics without the fuss.

good Plasmas have greater effectual blacks and deeper colors yet are priced a sprint greater desirable than liquid crystal demonstrate's. They mirror gentle from the demonstrate if the television is watched in a lighted room. precise of the line liquid crystal demonstrate's from Sony's XBR line or the newer Samsung grant a image enormously much as good by way of fact the greater effectual Plasmas and gentle-weight in a room isn't a concern. in case your going with a demonstrate length 40 two inch or smaller, i might in all likelihood circulate with a liquid crystal demonstrate. Going with a extensive demonstrate length of fifty inch or above i might heavily look on the liquid crystal demonstrate and the Plasma for a facet via facet comparisons. discover them the two on your funds, then do a assessment for the superb customary image.
