Hey I'm just wondering how much money people normally go to casinos with when playing hold'em, I don't want to look like an idiot when I go and get an amount of chips that would only pay for Big Blind twice but at the same time I don't want to take too much.

I know that this 'amount' would differ depending on which casino I go to and what the stakes are but still any help would be appreciated.

for 1$ 2$ no limit, which is the lowest you'll probably see, 50 is probably the min. 300 the max. I usually try to bring a bigger stack for many reasons. Although I think most people buy less. If you are playing limit hold-em, 30 times is plenty

30 times the big bet in a limit game is pretty reasonable. You won't stick out with that size buy-in. Don't be worried about looking like an idiot. You'll likely find welcoming and friendly people when you go to play.

25-30 times the big blind is perfect to buy in for a Limit Hold Em game. Bring more obviously in case you have a rough time so you can buy back in.

Never have less than 12 times the big blind on the table.
