Yes. Babies grow incredibly fast during the last two months of pregnancy...especially during the last month. During your last month of pregnancy, the average weight gain for an unborn baby in utero is 1/2 lb. a week. You're looking at 2 lb. right there. And you have another 4 weeks to add to that, plus any time you might go past your due date. :)

If your doctor didn't seem concerned, then you shouldn't be either. Plus...ultrasounds are not always accurate. With my second baby, I had an ultrasound on a friday. They told me he was 7.5 lb. He was born the very next day (emergency c-section) and he was 8 lb. 11 oz. :D Don't worry...I'm sure you and baby are fine.

At 34 weeks baby should be almost 5 lbs. My son weighted 4 lbs at my 32 week appt.

How are they getting the weight, is it by u/s measuring the amniotic fluid or some just manual feeling. I would request an u/s if it's manually, the doctor should be worried otherwise.

at 34 weeks, mine weighed appx 5 lbs. Are you small boned? Are you eating enough? Do you smoke? Or do small babies run in your family?
They say the child gains the most weight the last month, but mine didnt, he was 7 lbs at 37 weeks and he gained a half pound those last 3 weeks.

In the last month the baby puts on about a pound a week. So yes, it is ok as long as you make it past 37 weeks or so.

A baby puts on all its weight in teh last 2-3 weeks of a pregnancy. If the Dr isn't concerned neither should you be.

A baby should weigh that at about 28 weeks. I'd ask your doctor if he/she is concerned.

I would think it would weigh more than that. I delivered at 37 weeks and my baby was almost 7 pounds. I don't know if they gain that quickly.

It should be more around 3 to 4 I believe. If your doctor wasn't concerned, then I guess I wouldn't be concerned either.
