An excerpt from the article.
"This is an historic moment for the immigrant community,” said Gustavo Torres, executive director of Casa of Maryland Inc., an organization that advocates for immigrant workers’ rights. ‘‘We are going to choose the RIGHT people to represent our community, PEOPLE WHO LOOK LIKE US.”
How is this article and the above statement any less racist than the KKK endorsing a white candidate because "he looks like them?" Is it all right to be a bigot as long as you're not Caucasian?

I grew up in a state where the Mexican population in large. I know many people of different races. Without a doubt, the Mexicans are the most racist. Do you think a white person could get away with that statement. I don't think so. Do you know about the Latino organization La Raza? Look them up.

No because Caucasian's are already a majority and represented in the Congress. However immigrants are NOT represented so sponsoring a candidate that has the same ethnic minority background and will fight for the minority's needs is not racist. Also the KKK fights for the supremacy of white people whereas the immigrant population is only fighting to have their rights and interests represented. There rights and interest being their status and not the supremacy of their ethnicity.
KKK is intolerant of people who are not white thus they are bigots.
Immigrants are not intolerant of other ethnicities they just want someone to represent their rights and interest and since their interests is not condeming another race then they are not bigots.
Thats my take on it

Racism by white male adults is intollerant, but yet the same people who are quick to point out a racist comment by a white male are quite tolerant of the same comments from a minority....which is exactly why the minority claims 'racism' any time someone opposed illegal immigration.

It is very racist - he's blatantly racist. He must wear a wristband that says wwkkkd? Because if the KKK would do it, he can do it, that makes it right.
BTW, Joe, "racism with teeth" made me laugh out loud. Thanks for that one - I needed it.

This is racist. That's like saying I want a black guy to run my KFC restaraunt because I know he'll get his "brothers" to eat here
