I need to get a Certified copy of my Birth Certificate and my daughter's Birth Certificate. I look online and all these pay sites come up. I know we are entitlled to our own public records free of charge...or so I thought. The hospital told me to get a hold of Public Records in the blue pages, but I cannot seem to find a way to get a copy. I was born in Tucson, AZ (Pima county) and my daughter was born in alaska. PLEASE HELP!!!!

By the way, my house burnt down and we have relocated to another state. That is why it is so important to obtain them again. I know I cannot get them off the internet but there has to be a site with a number or information on how to get them. That is what I am looking to hear, or if you had to get copies of them before, please let me know what you did. Thank you.

You probably will need a certified copy of the birth certificates, these are not free. Stay away from the national pay sites, they charge too much. Contact the county office where you and your daughter were born. The fees vary, but in NYS it is $10. Look for the county clerk - that person can tell you exactly what you need to do to get the information. You should expect to provide some proof that you are who you say you are. (driver's license or state ID usually works)

Sorry, but due to the high amount if identity theft,no such thing as free. You must go in person to your local Metroploitan Department of Health and Vital Statistics to request a COPY of the birth certificate. You will have to pay somewhere between $10.00- $20.00 per copy. and bring some ID. If your daughter is a minor, her shot records can be proof enough, they can also look that up. Good luck.

You can view a copy of your Birth Certificate at the County Hall of Records but if you want to take one with you it costs. In King County it's $65 dollars wheather they mail it or you pick it up. You can get coppies of your Birth certificate mailed to you for most states online but going to the .Gov page for that state and looking up Birth Certificates, this is generally even more expensive though.

You usually can't get them for free. You need to pay a small fee for each copy - usually like 10-15 dollars. You need to contact the hall of records or municipal building in the county that you were born in.

You get it from the county that you were born in. Usually the Hall of Records, or a department like that. I know in California you can't get it for free anymore. I don't have an idea as to how to get it for free, unless you already gave a copy of it to someone else. Maybe they would give it back to you.

I am sorry, but nothing in this life is free. I would start at either the county courthouse, health department, or library if you happen to still live in the same state that you were born in. Otherwise contact the state's Dept. of Vital Statistics. Where I live we can go to health department, fill out a form, give them the money, & we get our birth & death certificates the same day.

There is NO way you can get it on the internet. Your birth certificate is not a public info in which it can be shared around the world. What happens if there are stalkers or terrorists trying to fake your identity. Go to the hospital in which you were BORN and obtain one, and fly to ALASKA to get your daughters. I can't believe you lost the most important document of your life.

Only your first Certified copy is free, every one after that is at least $10.00. I got a copy of my son's from the county public health district. I had to send off for my certificate of birth abroad. And they certainly can mail it to you, I sure didn't have to FLY to Germany.

Get in touch with the county your daughter was born in, and ask for the Records Dept. I do believe there will be a nominal charge.

Check with your local city hall, they would tell you where to get your papers. It doesn't matter if you were born in a different place, they are able to bring it up with the right information. They will charge you though for the time and paper, but it's maybe ten dollars or something like that.
