I understand that you may be desperate enough to actually turn to strangers to ask for money for your friend. However, I do not think this forum will bring you very far. It may be better to use your time to try and connect her with some social welfare programmes in the area. She will have to face the fact that this is the only way forward.
Also, consider finding part-time employment for her and help her out with watching the baby? In my opinion, the best help you can give her is not money, but some of your time as a friend and expertise as a professional. My BEST wishes...

She can go to the department of family services or where ever you would get food stamps where you live they can assist her in getting money, food, and help with utilities they usually have houses or apartments for low income families and single mothers. Rent for those tends to only be $50.00 a month for someone in her situation

Check with the United Way to see if she qualifies for the Meals on Wheels program. And see if they can help her make an application with the WIC (Women,Infants, and Children) to get baby formula for the child. Also see if UW can help her get in touch with the local food bank.

Money? Yah, I need that too. As to your friend, have you checked with the local missionary churches in your area? Some of the more honest ones are set up to help people who really do need help.

First of all, tell your friend to keep her legs closed. Secondly, if she has kids, she can get all kinds of help: Section 8 apartment, Medicaid, food stamps, money each month. All this from the government. She needs to contact the department of human services in your city or state.
