no - jails are much more crowded. Showers are a primary meeting place -- you bet you the weak will be someones girl in quick order.

Just don't bend over to pick up the soap unless you want one up the pooper!

Beer farts doesn't understand prison rape. It is not about being gay or even about sex, it is about humiliation and control/power. It is especially used by the Mexican Mafia and NF, and to a lesser degree by the BGF as a control method and a methodology to keep people in line with the gangs beliefs. There is a new Central American gang which is even worse. Beer farts may have been either real ugly, or real large/strong. It is usually the weak who fall prey. With usually one CO for every 100 or so prisoners, it is hard to supervise and watch every nook and cranny of a prison facility.

I don't know where Fr. Chuck gets his info, but he is totally 100% incorrect. Most prison sex is not consensual. Violence is getting worse in prisons because people think that longer prison sentences work - they do not. They merely make people more violent when they return to society. Longer sentences just make jails more crowded. Highly crowded facilities are always more violent. I have been to San Quentin, Folsom, Vacaville, and Soledad many times. Frankly, I would off myself before being incarcerated in these facilities.

First they were not that dangerous 10 years ago, and actually in the show is one of the safest places, in open population, the actual cell block is more dangerous.

But are you referng to triping and falling, burning thierself on hot water, or the "rape" issue.

Actually in general there is not alot of rape, there is plenty of sex where each party agrees, or trades varous sex for other things in prison.

Many have individual showers, and the showers are stationed near officer control booths. In most housing areas, there is a officer on duty in each cell block 24 hours a day.

And in alot there is prisoner lock down so they can only go to the shower and are locked into it.

Safer?! You're talkin' butt naked, soaped up, grown men who probably won't be seeing a woman any time soon. What do you think? Oh, and by the way, that rule about the soap? Let's just say I wouldn't want to be the one to attempt to debunk that theory!Nobody's ever entering my butt!

I was in jail from 1983 -2003 and never once had a problem in the shower.
All this talk about people in prison being gay is not true. Yes there is gay people in there, but they wer gay before they came in.Prison did not make them gay

I think they still have the same problems. Don't drop the soap is the number 1 rule.

I would say that they are just about the same. You can still slip and fall, get fungus on your feet, and ether freeze from cold water or burn yourself from the hot water.
