She is 54 with mild heart problems, but her husband just lost his job and she has not been covered for 3 months! What is the best health care plan I can get for her?

Probably Medicaid. There are also agencies who give you free meds to help you over a bad time. Some churches do it in our town.

If her husband is out of work it might be possible for the state to cover her medically until he finds another job. That all depends on how much money and property they have, of course. Private insurance is very expensive. We had to drop our policy because it went up to 1200 dollars a MONTH for just me and my hubby. I am 46 and he is 51 and the state says we make too much money for them to help us. Yeah, make too much for help and not enough to help ourselves. Good luck.

She may qualify for Social Security. Can she work? If not then you should have her apply. It takes quite awhile for the paperwork to be processed but if she qualifies then she'll get a check every month.

If she has a pre-exhisting condition, no health insurance company will take her. I have been through this with my son (he has Crohn's Disease) for a couple of years.
I suggest checking out financial help or programs through your state government.
