I always have trouble giving out recipes because most of the really good main dishes, veggies, and potatoes I don't have a recipe for. I just make it. I'm not talking about baking cakes, cookies, pies, bread and such. I'd rather make sure they turn out perfect. Meats and stuff I just seem to go in and cook and it always turns out fine. I'm a really good cook or so everybody AND my mother says. No one taught me how to cook. Is it just natural for some people. I just want to know because it seems there are so many on here that have so much trouble.

I didn't mean for it to sound like I never use recipes, I do use a few and look at new ones all the time. Usually when I am looking for something really different. After that I can usually just make it without looking.

It is just natural for some people - just like some people are good at math and I'm not! I tend to use recipes as an inspiration and don't really measure every little thing. However, I will occasionally sit down and write out something that I think is fabulous so that I can share it with someone.

Well I envy you jescl32...I wish I could just cook something up without a recipe..I'm strictly a "cook off a recipe girl". I guess I don't have the confidence that goes along with just throwing things together and it coming out well. When I follow a recipe I know it's a pretty sure thing..except for the occasional few.

I agree with you but i like new recipes just so i can try something new once in a while. since i tend to season and cook food the same most of the time cause i already know how good it is. when i do find i new recipe i like, i always end up tweaking it somehow to make it my own.

I use a few really good sites to get receipes and I can usually get a recipe for anything I want. My preference is to get a recipe with a picture unless it's something very similar to something I've made before. I like to see it before I cook it.

When I answer questions for recipes on here, I usually use Receipezaar.com. They've got a lot of really good receipes that are very learly laid out. Otherwise, I use these:

http://www.epicurious.com
http://www.foodnetwork.com
http://www.recipezaar.com
http://www.marthastewart.com
http://www.allrecipes.com

In that order.

I don't have that problem, not in the same way you do, anyway.
USually if someone asks me for a recipe for something I made, they say they'll email me for it. But they don't. It's ok, if they forget to, if I know their email address. But if I don't know it, then it's a problem. I genearlly don't mind sharing recipes, depending on what they're for.
