Yes, hypothetically. If you drank a lot of water, really quickly, you could bring the sodium level in your blood down very quickly. That can cause seizures among other things. The horror story you have probably heard (which is true) is of the kid who was worried his urine would test positive for marijuana, so he drank a gallon of water right before driving to get his urine drug test...brought his sodium level way down, had a seizure, and got in a fatal car accident.

But, it isn't an easy way to do yourself in :)

No, water is actually very, very good for you; and will prevent you from early deaths. But, you don't want to overdo it either and drink like 50 glasses a day. The USDA recommends at least eight 8 oz glasses of water a day to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The most you should go up to a day is 10.

yes, drinking too much water is dangerous because the body cannot excrete that much fluid. Excess water then goes to the bowel, which pulls salt into it from the body, diluting the concentration of salt in the tissues.

Changing the concentration of salt, in turn, causes a shifting of fluids within the body, which can then induce a swelling in the brain. The swollen organ will then press against the bones of the skull, and become damaged.

Yes it is possible. If you want to find out how much you should drink, take your weight and divide it by two. (for example 150/2=75). This is how many ounces of water you should drink a day.

This condition is caused by drinking too much fluid and is not caused by excessive loss of salt in sweat or by exercising. When people with psychiatric problems force themselves to drink huge amounts of water while sitting still, they also can die of hyponatremia, only in this case, it is called water intoxication.

Yes, one can die from drinking too much water, but if you try, your stomach would feel so uncomfortably bloated that you would have to overcome that feeling to continue drinking.

Don't listen to any of these people who say no... YES you can. People who have been hazed by forcing them to drink lots of water have died. It was on Dateline recently. It throws the electrolytes out of balance, and the kidneys can fail from having to work so hard to filter out the water.

With your kidney failing, I'm pretty sure you won't have the strength to continue drinking water, and your kidney could heal itself.

Your body has warning signs, usually in the form of pain, to stop you from doing something fatal.

yes but it takes a lot of dedication. it is not an easy way to die. It is hard to force yourself to drink that much. you are going to get sick first. I really don't think you could do it without someone forcing you to.
