I just thought of this... we don't say "mans" or "womans", do we? We say, "men" and "women"? So, my question is, wouldn't it make more sense to say "humen"? It sounds weird, but think about it.

If you ask this question in the Languages section, you will probably get more well-informed answers.

I used to teach English in Japan, and sometimes I'd get questions like this from students.

Often my answer simply was, "Because English is strange."

Because it's both a singular and plural noun, depending on the context of the sentence in which it's used.

yup it would but there are lots of words that should be said or possibly spelled the way the sound it would make more sense but there's know changing it now

"guy" and "human" come from diverse notice ingredients. Human comes from "humaine" (center English), that's similar to "homo" (guy) or "humanus" (Latin) guy is from center English besides, yet basically as "guy" or "mann".
