Because it is soooooooo much easier to make up the rules as you go along!
Then you can pass it off as being 'tolerant' or 'forward thinking'....not that YOU would do that whatever-it-is....but you would never JUDGE someone....
that's the kicker- we have had people throwing 'judge not lest ye be judged' in our faces for so long, that we have forgotten the Bible also tells us we must correct our brothers and sisters who are sinning. if we don't, we are as guilty as they are of the sin. but if they reject our corrections, they are on their own.
We Christians need to grow backbones and stop letting people shove their lack of morality down our throats!

Everyone practices moral relativism. It's easy to talk about black and white abstract concepts, but almost every practical philosophy deals in shades of gray.

There we are again, 300 million of us lumped in to a single group! WE are not forced to practice anything! There are people who are as fundamental as any religion, and there are people that have no religion, and everything between. That's the great thing about being free to choose what we believe or do not believe!
