First, it depends on your height. Record her height weight and age. Then enter the information on the Children and Teen BMI calculator on the CDC website. Search "BMI calculator CDC" on Google. Click on the link that shows.

Or go here:

It depends on her height. There are BMI (Body Mass Index) calculaters all over the internet, but it's really an outdated tool and more for getting a general idea of where you stand, weight-wise. I would suggest taking her to an adolescent doctor for a better evaluation. If she is in fact overweight, a nutritionist can help her create a healthy diet - something someone her age is not likely to do successfully without a little help. Ask her parents to go with her, or go yourself. Get active with her, too! She'll have fun, feel supported, and lose the weight.

Good luck!

Like many others have stated- we would need to know her height before labeling her overweight, normal, etc. It also may just be muscle if she's into a lot of sports and activities like that. If she is truly concerned about her weight and believes it's a major issue then she shouldn't start dieting at twelve. I would say just make sure she is eating healthier choices over junk food. No limiting the amount of food she can eat though as that's wrong to do that for someone her specific age.

No I don't think so and it also depends on her height but I think overweight for her age would be like 130.

It depends on how tall she is. Tell her to go find her BMI (Body Mass Index), and determine her weight and height to tell if she's healthy. If she's just saying that for the heck of it, tell her to stop worrying about it or it could turn to anorexia.

She could be. But because are apperance is based upon our genetics ( mother and father ) she could simply have gotten it from them. If one of her parents are overweight she may have just adopted that part in her genes.
