Am I correct in assuming that according to Christianity which has 2.1 billion followers, (33%) the other 4 billion people (69%) of the world are all wrong in what they believe and doomed for eternal hell because they don't accept Jesus as their saviour? I'd hate to live my life thinking that much of the world was evil...is this what you really believe?

Well for one thing, conservative Christian dogma holds that "good" and "evil" don't really matter that much. Obedience to the church does. Kiss God's ring the way he (or rather, your church leader) wants or burn.

Which leads to my second point: The rest of the world isn't considered "evil" except by the most die-hard radicals. Just "benighted and misinformed". They'll still get cast into the same hell as the psychopaths and monsters, though. 'Cause...you know...they deserve it for not kissing God's ring like the Christians do.

It's a control issue. Keep the sheep in line and in your power by telling them that if they leave the flock they're going to suffer a fate worse than death. Then shear them all.

All I know is the way to God is through Jesus... If God wants to bring people in via another method than thats up to Him. Will He bring people in based on good works? I don't know Im not God. I see questions like this posted every hour on the hour as though it might change what the Bible says. It doesnt and never will. Christians dont WANT these people to go to Hell, many don't want ANYONE to go to Hell but WE (Christians) have no say in the matter... sorry.

The notion of Hell is an old boogeyman story used to frighten children and overgrown children into submission since upper neolithic times. There is no evidence to indicate that hell exists nor that an afterlife exists.

Neither Christians nor anyone else "goes" anywhere after dying. You just are not anymore. 'Bye!

Here's what something that Jesus said:

"But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut the kingdom of heaven against others; for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in."
Matthew 23:13-14

But apparently his words to the Pharisees do not apply to Christians themselves, because many of them are far too ready to damn all non-Christians to Hell and then use the Bible as defense.

But what did Jesus call the Pharisees? Hypocrites.

Religions like everything else, has the correct and false teachings. Personally, I find it easier to have one definite way to heaven, through Jesus Christ, than having many unclear ways. If someone has never heard of Christ, then God can't hold a "grudge" against them, BUT, if they have heard of Christ and rejected his words, then they will be punished> Even some Christians don't aknowledge Christ. So we all have the choice and oppurtunity to be saved> The Bible says that Jesus can't return until the Gospel has been preached to ALL the nations> so everyone will most likely hear about christ>

I don't think everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus is doomed, although there is spoken about people who reject Jesus saviourship are being doomed.

On the other hand: Matthew 25 says the following
See that in verses 35 to 39 people who don't know Jesus ask why they deserve the "inheritance", they don't even know him. And Jezus says: because you have done good deeds to the poor, you have done them to me.

Matthew 25: The Sheep and the Goats

31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me
