Honestly, women are screwed up in the head, so you're probably better off not being subtle. Just grow some and tell her instead of beating around the bush. ("You're a nice girl, but...." should do it.)

Be honest with her regardless. She deserves that much from you. Treat her the way you would want to be treated if you were being told by a girl that isn't interested in you the same thing. You have to treat people the way that you want to be treated and tell her that you don't want to hurt her but you are just not interested in her and that you hope she understands there really isn't much more you can say.

1) pass a note- "You're much too cute for me, aim higher."
2) start talking to someone else whenever she tries to start a conversation with you
3) change the conversation to weather, politics or religion instead of getting personal
4) be less subtle- let her know you're not interested and you'd hate for her to waste her time.

Be too 'busy' or distant....Also start talking about a girl you DO like. She'll eventually get the hint.

u should start by talking and becoming friends, then u can ask her to go to the movies or a fair or wutevr's in town. then u can ask her if u guys wanna be bf/gf if she says yes "yipee!" if she says no she justs wants to be friends then "ok". at least u can still hang around her!! lol
