I have a female cat and was jjust wondering how often cats go into heat

Normally a female cat goes into heat about every six to eight months, but during the warmer months it can increase to every few weeks. I had a cat that was in heat almost all the way through summer before. She would go through the cycle and just about as soon as it was done she would start all over again. The only way to get some peace is to get her fixed or let her get pregnant.

Cat once they start going into heat go into heat often. They can be in heat when their kittens are only a few weeks old and become pregnant again. The best thing to do is spay your female cats. besides unwanted litters of kittens urinating in the house when in heat it also can cause serious health issues for unspayed females.

Save your sanity, and have your female kitten spayed. They can start going into heat as early as four or five months of age. If she doesn't get pregnant or spayed the heat cycle can repeat in as little as two to three weeks, making one think that she is continually in heat. Cats, if they aren't spayed, come into heat every few weeks for most or all of the year, depending on climate. In warmer climates, such as the southern U.S., they cycle all year round. A female is "IN HEAT" for a week to 10 days (or even as long as 2 weeks in some cases), then out for a week to 10 days-- repeating the cycle until she's bred or spayed.

These frequent hormonal cycles greatly increase her risk of uterine and mammary cancers, pyometra (a uterine infection), false pregnancies and a host of other problems that can all be minimized or eliminated if she is SPAYED! Not only that, but a female cat in heat draws the attention of every intact tom in your neighborhood and the next. Plus, your female in heat will call and squall night and day until she gets what she wants-- or is SPAYED.
